Beginning Quilting - 2 1/2 Days
Tuesday & Wednesday March 9-10 9:00-4:30pm Thursday March 11 9-11:30am.
Whether you've always wanted to quilt or you're ready to build on
your basic sewing skills, this class will give you the confidence to get started. Val covers the essential techniques every quilter should know, including accurate cutting, rotary cutter and ruler use, perfect ¼" seams, pressing, fabric selection, and choosing the right needles
and threads.
As you learn, you'll create a four-block quilt with borders (approximately 30" square). You'll finish by learning how to baste your quilt, quilt it using simple straight-line quilting, and hand-finish the binding—giving you experience with every major step of the quilting process. Students should bring a sewing machine and be comfortable with its basic operation.

Fun, Friends, & Fat Quarters - 2 1/2 Days
Thur March 11 1:30-4:30pm
Fri/Saturday Mar 12 & 13 9-4:30pm
Choose from a collection of twelve beautiful quilt designs, each created using just twelve fat quarters. With several patterns to choose from, you can select the quilt that best matches your style and fabric collection.
Designed with confident beginners in mind, this class will guide you through the fundamentals of quilt construction, including accurate cutting, piecing, assembly, and adding optional inner and outer borders.
Students should bring a sewing machine and be comfortable using it, as well as have basic experience with a rotary cutter and quilting ruler.
Materials: 12 coordinating fat quarters plus approximately 4½ yards of fabric for the backing and binding.
