Be The Good: Small but Mighty Quilt - 2 1/2 Days
Tuesday & Wednesday March 9-10 9:00-4:30pm Thursday March 11 9-11:30am.
This small but mighty quilt—measuring 24" square—is an exclusive project designed especially for the inaugural Shipshewana Quilting Art Seminar! At the heart of the quilt is a color-tinted modern redwork hand embroidery panel featuring a whimsical cottage scene and the inspiring message, “Be the Good You Wish to See.”
In this class you’ll discover how to use an ordinary 64-box of Crayola crayons to add soft, beautiful color-tinting to your fabric. Kori will teach you her favorite hand embroidery stitches done in one color to make those tints pop, plus walk you through creating old-fashioned
yo-yos and mastering her go-to wool appliqué technique for the leafy border.
This project is currently in digital form, and as the designer, Kori may add or change a few details before the final version.

Celebrate Indiana’s natural beauty and your creative journey at the Quilting Arts Seminar with this exclusive 11”x14" embroidery project! Featuring the state flower (peony) and state bird (cardinal)—both personal favorites—this class is a heartfelt tribute to Indiana and a memorable keepsake from our time together.
What makes this project truly unique:
You’ll personalize your art by adding your favorite saying, Bible verse, or affirming words in the special space on your piece. To make it extra meaningful, you will email Kori your chosen phrase three weeks before class, and she will create a custom hand-lettered design just for you!

Kori went to the Savannah College of Art and Design and received a BFA in Interior design. In the corporate world she designed everything from retail interiors to education facilities while living and working in Columbus, Ohio and Washington D.C.
With a passion for hand embroidery, Kori came back to her farm girl roots and opened a quilt shop in the old Fowler School House in Cortland, Ohio. Kori soon started designing patterns. She really wanted to honor the people that she has loved and lost and the places that she has been to. This is what she thinks makes her designs and business practices unique.
