Workshop Details
Learn to adapt a photograph into a realistic art quilt. Workshop participants select an image to work from, get it enlarged, and trace a pattern from which to work. Another option is to use any pattern by Sandra, which may be appropriate for beginning students. Fusing into place, the use of media, and quilting techniques are covered in class. Students will send up to 2 images to Sandra, 3 weeks prior to class for approval. To use your time wisely in class, she recommends tracing your pattern in advance of the workshop. She will mail registrants a video link at least one month prior to class. The video covers selecting an image, choosing fabrics, and tracing. Sandra will offer her hand-dyed sky fabrics and other hand-dyed fabric for sale in the classroom. Generally speaking, the vast majoirty of students do not complete their quilt top in a workshop. Unless you have a very simple image, all quilting is completed later. If you think you'll get to that step, bring a sewing machine, thread, backing and batting. Sandra will bring the following media to class: Color Pencils, Ink, Oil Pastels and Cray Pas oil pastels. The Fabrico markers she uses most are #152 Sand, #181 Cool Gray, #155 Truffle Brown, and #182 Real Black. (purchasing your own set is optional)
Cancellation Policy
CANCELATION POLICY: A registration/workshop deposit of $400 is due on-line at the time of reservation. ​​ The balance due, based on your lodging needs will be payable to Cousin's Quilt Shop by December 11, 2025. It may be paid in person or over the phone with a credit card. $150 cancellation fee - August 11 - October 11 $250 cancellation fee - October 12 - December 11 $400 cancellation fee - December 12, 2005 Cancellation refunds will not be issued after December 12 unless we're able to fill your spot from the waitlist, and there are rooms available at Mission Point. In the event we're able to fill your spot, we will refund what you've paid - subject to the $400 cancellation fee. Return credit card payment or returned checks are subject to a $50 fee.
